Quiet Reflection ran in the Group 1 32Red Sprint yesterday ay Haydock. She was drawn in stall 4 for the 14 runner event with Dougie Costello aboard the Group 1 winning daughter of Showcasing.
Her preparation in the weeks up to the race had gone very well and once Limato was withdrawn due to ground concerns, she moved to 7/2 favourite on the day.
From the gates, she broke smartly and Dougie was keen to get her into a good position as the field tacked across to the near side rail. From a couple of furlongs into the race, it was clear that Quiet Reflection was tanking along and handling conditions very well. As with previous races, it became a matter of holding onto her and not committing for home too early. Dougie held his nerve and turned on the afterburners with 1 and a half to go, she went clear and destroyed the Group 1 field to claim yet another huge prize.
It’s difficult to put into words how good this filly is. She is simply a fantastic filly with a fantastic attitude. She is the best 6 furlong horse of her generation. She is a credit to her owners and all of the team at Spigot Lodge.
Karl and his team have done a fantastic job with her throughout the year to put her spot on when the big day comes. Huge credit must go to Jordan Vaughan who looks after her and to the humble Dougie Costello who registered his second Group 1 success with her yesterday.
All of us at Ontoawinner take huge pride in seeing our owners enjoying this sweet success. It’s not only the owners of Quiet Reflection that enjoy these victories but all of our owners that form part of the wider Ontoawinner family, that’s what makes it so special.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the well-wishers. She is such a special horse to be involved with and we count our lucky stars daily.
