Masked Dance was entered at Southwell on Tuesday in the 6 furlong handicap and Nicky Mackay rode.  He was drawn on the inside and ran well to a point and then weakened in the home straight. He didn’t have an overly hard race.

Miami Gator was entered at Southwell on Wednesday in the one mile handicap. He was ridden by young jockey Conor Harrison who had won on Miami at Hamilton last year. There was a strong pace in the race and Conor had Miami up with the lead from the start and he was soon clear with the other pace setter. Miami got a couple of bumps up the home straight and try as he might he couldn’t shake off the attentions of the other horse who just edged in front of Miami close home. It was a gallant effort and the winner was very well backed and looks ahead of the handicapper so a good effort.
