An Update on Edwin Tuer’s horses

Sphinx is very well. We’re looking at races at Southwell on the 18th over the fixed brush hurdles, 3m110yds, Class 4 or Haydock, 21st Jan, 3miles 0-135 Class 3, a nice race on Peter Marsh Chase day. We’ll go wherever the ground is worse. Hopefully the very unsettled weather will continue.

Fazza will be coming back into the main barn this week and start his training for the up coming flat season. We will be looking to start him in races late March to the middle of April.

Ailsa Craig, like Fazza will come back into the main barn this week and start her training for the new flat season. She looks really well and the winter break will have been very beneficial. Again we will look for races early April.

***NEW HORSE ***

Sally Friday-We’re delighted to add the ‘Footstepsinthesand’ mare, Sally Friday, to the team for the 2012 flat season. The four year old is still lightly enough raced, and has a BHB rating of 75. She has been placed five times from eight starts, so we look forward and are certain she’ll be winning for us this season. Edwin will improve Sally Friday as he improved Ailsa Craig and Easy Terms. Our mare’s seasonal target will be The Cumberland Plate at Carlisle, a race Edwin won with Easy Terms this season. She had a minor wind operation in December, and has recovered well. She will come back into full training this month and will be ready to debut in our colours in April. She will be effective from 10f to 14f+ on the flat and may be the type to jump a hurdle in time. For now, we’ll try to win a few staying races on the flat, and take it from there.
