We hope you are all enjoying what is left of the Bank Holiday weekend.
We’re looking forward to seeing Fast Shot back on the track soon after a blistering start to 2014. He has an entry for the Wokingham at Ascot and may well take his chance if he gets in, ground dependent. His targets for the season remain later in the year in Scotland, the Stewards Cup and the Gold Cup.
Yourartisonfire is well in himself again after being a little under the weather after Lingfield, where he didn’t give his running for whatever reason. Ticking Katie and Heavenly River are also well and it won’t be too long before we see them out.
The two year olds are all well this week and progressing well. Our last 2-y-0 to hit the track will be the Showcasing gelding. He’s recently come from the Newmarket Breeze Ups and while no buttons have been pressed yet, his attitude and physique tick both boxes on the page so far.
A host of tough individuals are on track for entries soon. Dodina needs good ground and is in good order with herself. Piceno and Teds Brother are well and will be out soon, but possibly need the handicapper to cut them some slack.
we’re looking forward to Blue Maisey coming back out next month, she has been off colour but is on the way back . Fazza will be out again soon too but is another held by the handicapper right now.
Burnhope continues in good order and this is a key season for him, as he’s dropped down the weights and while he is fine in his work at home, he needs to produce something when the colours come on.
We would like to get another run into Hail the Brave after an odd performance last day, which can’t be fully explained, but he either choked or frightened himself badly as he pulled up like there was something wrong, but then was fine after his race, if a little tired. The ground was dire though.
It will be interesting to see how Little Lady Katie fairs tomorrow in a good fillies maiden. She’ll find several too good for her but hopefully she has a good day, enjoys it and comes home having learned something.
What a season the ARC members are having. They seem to have a horse win or placed weekly. It must be one of the best racing packages around this season. You seem to see the same faces racing weekly, tremendous value and fun………long may it continue.
