Mitchell's Way finishes 2nd on debut

Mitchell’s Way made his racecourse debut today and ran a great race to finish 2nd in the bumper at Kelso .

The race was run at a slow pace and young Jeremiah McGrath; a seven pound claimer had to coach him around at times. Despite some greenness, Jeremiah settled him well at the back of the main group throughout the race. When the race came to life at the 4f marker,    Mitchell’s Way looked to be travelling supremely well.  Unfortunately, on the turn for home , the favourite – “the weatherman” , showed a nice turn of pace to go clear on the final bend, with our lad finishing 2nd.

Considering this was his racecourse debut, this was an excellent performance from Mitchell’s Way, Jeremiah reported that when asked questions, he responded in style, going through gaps and picking up when he needed to. Mitchell’s Way was recommended to us by Alan Swinbank and we both think a lot of this horse. Pardon the pun but we feel our owners are on to a winner with this one, he could be a national hunt enthusiasts dream.
