Teds Brother wins at Hamilton

Teds Brother lined up in the Class 5 IHE Stainless Ltd Handicap over 1 mile last night at Hamilton. Phillip Prince who claims 5lb was aboard the Richard Guest trained 5 year old gelding.

Teds was looking to build on a very solid effort last week at Carlisle where he had no luck in running but still placed on the evening.

He went off a well supported 11/4 favourite, having opened up at 5/1 in the morning markets.

He was drawn in stall 4 for the 11 runner event but seemed to stumble slightly leaving the stalls and Phillip positioned him on the rail in 6th heading for the bend

At the 4 furlong marker, he looked to be travelling sweetly and Phillip angled Teds out to sit a couple off the rail.

By the 3 furlong marker, Phillip asked Teds to go on and he went into a share of 3rd, making healthy inroads into the lead.

At the 2 furlong marker, Teds went into a share of the lead and it developed into a 2 horse battle between our lad and the Jedd O’ Keeffe  trained – Satanic Beat. They locked horns and Teds battled on gamely to go on to score by a neck, with the 1st 2 finishing a couple of lengths clear of 3rd.

This was an excellent performance from both horse and jockey and landed Phillip Prince & Richard Guest a double on the night.

Well done to Richard and all the team at Ingmanthorpe Racing Stable, our first winner with the team. A big well done to Bob Mc Coy and all his owners , a sweet success for all involved.
