Three for Tuesday

Team OnToAWinner were treble handed heading south to Southwell today with Piceno & Masked Dance trained by Scott Dixon and Miami Gator trained by Karl Burke. The in form Luke Morris was booked to ride all 3 in the Yellow & White.

Piceno was first to run in the Class 4 handicap over 7 furlongs. Piceno slightly missed the break and Luke was forced to ride him to get up to the early pace. Turning for home, he looked to hold every chance but couldn’t get on top and was beaten into 3rd, the well backed favourite getting up close home to score a shade cosily. Another gallant performance from a game horse.

Next up was Masked Dance who ran in the Class 6 over 6 furlongs, he drawn in stall 3 for the 5 runner event. He broke well and Luke rode him up to sit in 2nd place on the turn for home. It quickly developed into a 2 horse race between our lad and Very First Blade ridden by Franny Norton. Masked Dance knuckled down, getting the better of his opponent by ¾ of a length, the 1st 2 finishing well clear of the remainder. WINNER!

Last up was Miami Gator. He was running in the Class 5 event over a mile. Miami had finished in the frame on his last 2 starts but he was bumping into Our Ivor who looked a very well handicapped winner on their last encounter. Our Ivor was sent off the 5/4 fav. Miami broke smartly and went into a share of the lead, turning for home, Luke got busy and tried to stretch the field but the favourite looked to be travelling very well and went clear going onto score by 8 lengths with Miami claiming 3rd place with a gutsy display to land the e/w money.

A great day of activity at OnToAWinner towers.

Well done to the owners of all 3 horses.
