Tuesday Update – 2 Placed from 2 Runners

Yourartisonfire made his seasonal debut today at Yarmouth , Michael Metcalfe who claims 3 lb was aboard the Elaine & Karl Burke trained 3 year old.

Reports from Spigot Lodge coming into the race were good, the horse had wintered well and we waited with baited breath to see what the 1st run of the season would bring.

He broke smartly and travelled well throughout on the good to firm ground. At the 2 furlong mark, he looked to be travelling all over the field but Dark Emerald , ridden by Kieran Fallon kept finding a bit more in front, Yourartisonfire finished a game 2nd , only beaten a neck. As a 2 Y/O, the winner was beaten a couple of lengths by the very progressive Hannon trained Ven Der Neer, exciting times ahead!!

There will be a lot to look forward to with our fella this season and he will relish a bit more cut in the ground, his owners are guaranteed some excellent days out this season and he looks a big, strong 3 year old to go to war with this season.

20 minutes later at Lingfield, Angels Calling lined up in the Class 6 handicap over 6 furlongs , Robert Winston took the ride. She was drawn in stall 3 for the 10 runner event

She broke smartly and headed to the turn for home in 5th position , heading for the bend there was a bit of crowding and Angels lost a few lengths.

At the final bend, 2 furlongs from home,  she looked to have a great chance but the Richard Hughes ridden Fossa swooped late to win with Angels finishing a very good 2nd.

She was a bit unlucky to bump into one today and is clearly well capable of winning in this class or above

Having 2 seconds on the day, we were a bit unlucky not to have a winner but there is a lot to look forward to with YAIOF and Angels, surefire winners in the season ahead, these were 2 very good performances from very nice horses, well done to all involved
