Warming Up in Winter

We’re warming up this Winter for the flat season with several yard visits. We’re going to Tim Easterby’s next Saturday 25th Jan to see our two horses there, including Fast Shot, the Ayr Silver Cup 2nd. We will then be at Karl Burke’s on Sat 1st Feb. Both visits start at 10am sharp so we are in good time to see horses work.

Gold Show has been given an OR of 105 over hurdles so we’re looking for a suitable race. Dodina won’t run again Monday, we will let her recuperate a little more. The tactics became indecisive last time out, with the jockey keeping her revved up wide on the outside, making too much use of her. She needed to make it off a slow pace or drop in off a fast pace, but got caught between either plan and burned her out. She may get dropped to 5f to see how she goes over the minimum distance.

It was good to see Ticking Katie back on the track, but she badly needed it in hindsight.

We have had six finish in the money year to date, and the elusive winner can’t be far away with.

The ARC syndicate has been strengthened by the addition of BURNHOPE to its ranks, who should be well enough handicapped to land one soon. We’ve parted company with EUTROPIUS, who will not don our proud colours this season. There is no change on the number of horses in, but we’ll tinker around to try to maximise winners for the ARC group.
