Description
We were delighted to purchase this colt by Havana Gold at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze up sale. He came very highly recommended by his consignors who we have an excellent relationship with and he was our top target at all the breeze up sales this year.
He goes into training with Richard Fahey and looks a speedy type for the year ahead.
Havana Gold was a very successful racehorse who won several prestigious races during his career including the Prix Jean Prat (Group 1) at Chantilly in France, by a neck, beating a very strong field of three-year-old colts and he also won the Somerville Tattersall Stakes (Group 3) at Newmarket. Havana Gold retired from racing after the 2013 season with a record of 5 wins from 11 starts, and earnings of over £350,000.
He was a superb stallion who sired top racehorses such as Havana Grey who won the Group 1 Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh in 2018 and earned over £400k in prize money. Havana Grey is now a fantastic sire in his own right and was leading first season sire in 2022. Phoenix of Spain is also by Havana gold, he won the Irish 2,000 Guineas in 2019 and has earned over £1 million in prize money. These are just a few of the successful racehorses sired by Havana Gold.
The dam – Liberisque is by Equiano, she won 1 race at 3 years of age and placed 3 times before retiring to become a broodmare.
The horse scoped and vetted well and did a good breeze on the day. He is a good looking, good moving type with an excellent temperament. Shares are very limited, don’t hesitate to contact us if interested.
