Secret Handsheikh.

We are delighted to offer this cracking Mayson colt that we purchased at Tattersalls Ireland yearling sales. He was signed for by the very astute Blanford Blookstock and is trained by the young maestro Archie Watson. Raydiance is a Mayson that we had great success with and we are chuffed to add another in the shape of this racey colt.

Mayson was a top-class sprinter who ran over 5 and 6 furlongs and amassed career prize money of over 400k. During his career, he won the Group 1 Darley July Cup at Newmarket, 6f (beating Ortensia, Society Rock, Sepoy and Strong Suit). He won the Group 3 Palace House Stakes. He was officially rated higher than his very successful Group 1 sire, Invincible Spirit. He is also the highest-rated son of Invincible Spirit at stud.

The dam Descriptive was a winner at 2 and also placed 3 times. She has produced 3 winners from 7 runners, most notably Valonia who was owned by Qatar Racing. She was 2nd on debut at 2 and won a class 2 maiden at Goodwood next time out. She won the listed Highfield Farm Flying Fillies’ Stakes at Pontefract at 3. She retired with an official rating of 104.

This is a lovely colt, he is a really good mover and takes the eye. He was consigned by Ballyhane who thought a lot of him. We are delighted to have him running in yellow and white silks next season.

Archie Watson on the Mayson colt:10th February : “He’s a tough Colt who is showing us plenty of speed and I fully expect him to be an early runner. He has a fantastic attitude and is a lovely moving horse. I’ve been impressed with him and I wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t a a horse that could a Royal Ascot sort.”
