Description

We are delighted to welcome a new trainer to our ranks in the shape of Marco Botti. Racing fans need no introduction to Marco, a trainer at the top of his game. We couldn’t be happier with our first purchase he will have in his care.

The sire – Cape Cross, a son of Green Desert and Champion filly Park Appeal won once at two and was third in the Craven Stakes at three. At four (and by then under the care of Saeed bin Suroor) Cape Cross hit the top level, making virtually all to land the G1 Lockinge and setting a new track record in the process. A pair of G2 victories – in the Queen Anne Stakes (now a G1 contest) and the Celebration Mile followed at five and he was then retired to his birthplace to take up his new career as a stallion. His first crop yielded no fewer than 28 two-year-old winners, including ten Black type performers.

Our filly – Shift Cross is a very well bred filly. She has taken some time to mature. She has run once, being well supported on debut and she finished a close up 5th. However, she was too weak. She has been given time to mature and will be ready to race in September. She is good enough to win a maiden and step forward from there. She’s been added to the team to win races. She retains a good deal of residual value as a broodmare and we’ll build on that value when we win races with her.
