Clifford Lee takes the Honours at Lingfield

Made of Honour ran in the Ladbrokes Home of The Odds/Boost Class 3 Fillies Handicap over 7 furlongs at Lingfield with Clifford Lee taking the mount on the Karl Burke-trained filly.

She opened at a price of 7/2 on the eve of the race but there was a little bit of support in the betting markets seeing her sent off at 100/30

She was drawn in stall 4 for the 4 runner event. After breaking smartly, Clifford was happy to settle her in behind the front running Side Effect trained by the in form Mick Appleby.
Entering the straight and the 2-furlong pole, Clifford set about reeling the leader in. In full drive position, Clifford galvanised Made of Honour and ate up the lead to take it up a furlong out to win by a cosy 1 ΒΌ lengths. It was a fantastic performance from both horse and jockey on the day and a fantastic success for her owners.

A welcome change of luck for Nikki Hazel Made of Honour’s usual groom after she had a very nasty fall 2 weeks ago and we wish her well on her long recovery mission.

Made of Honour brought up our 4th winner of the year in as many weeks. A fantastic start for our loyal owners who have a lot to look forward to in 2019.
