The class of 2021

The flat season is fast approaching and over the coming weeks we will be updating you on our string of horses for the season ahead. This is always an exciting time to be involved in horse racing, the anticipation of untried 2 year olds, improving handicappers and the thoughts of winners ahead. We have assembled a strong team of 2 year olds this year by some fantastic stallions, see below for updates.

Due Diligence gelding
Trainer: Adrian Keatley
Sire: Due Diligence – by the mighty War Front. Due Diligence was actually rated higher than War Front at his peak and was champion sprinter in Ireland in 2014.
Dam: Secret Romance – Winner at 2 and has produced 2 two year old winners. The grand dam produced the sire – Pearl Secret.
Comment: Sharp horse, will be running in the first 5 furlongs races this season. He has been professional since day 1 and is an exciting prospect.

Adaay With Friends
Trainer: Karl Burke
Sire: Adaay – Incredible first season as a stallion in 2020, finishing second to Mehmas in the Leading 1st Crop Sires. By Kodiac, Adaay was a winner of 5 of his 7 starts and is a sire that is going places.
Dam: Clouds Rest – Race winning mare that has produced 2 winners from 2 runners.
Comment: She is not overly big but has shown a tremendous attitude and has plenty of ability. We will likely see her on the racetrack in May. She is a nice filly with a nice pedigree and looks a very good prospect.

Ardad x Polly Floyer filly
Trainer: Adrian Keatley
Sire: Ardad – 1st season sire by the mighty Kodiac. Ardad, the Flying Childers winner was a breeze-up sales-topper and won the Windsor Castle in a faster time than Profitable’s G1 King’s Stand on the same day. A hugely exciting addition to the stallion ranks.
Dam: Polly Floyer – Race winning mare that has produced 3 winners.
Comment: This filly is bred to be a real speedster and her work so far has backed this up. She should be an early type, she is very professional and could be the type to follow in her fathers footsteps and who knows, we could have the top hats out for a trip to Royal Ascot.

Islaady

Sire: Adaay – Incredible first season as a stallion in 2020, finishing second to Mehmas in the Leading 1st Crop Sires. By Kodiac, Adaay was a winner of 5 of his 7 starts and is a sire that is going places.
Dam: Sun Angel – by Sir Prancealot, our filly is her first produce.
Comment: Our filly is the 1st offspring out of the mare at racing age. She is a good sized filly and she has been showing up well on the gallops. She is precocious and should be an early season runner. We are delighted with this cheap purchase who looks a proper 2 year old.

Decorated Knight x Negotiate filly
Trainer: Adrian Keatley
Sire: Decorated Knight – First season stallion by the mighty Galileo. A fantastic 10f horse who was a winner of 1.4m in prize money.
Dam: Negotiate – Winner of 2 races at 3 years and 28 k in prize money. She is the dam of 2 runners, most notably – Overwrite who was a winner at 2 & 3 and 15k in prize money.
Comment: She is a late April foal and we have taken our time with her. She is a beautiful moving filly and has a wonderful attitude and looks to have a bit of class. She wont be an early runner but she is a filly who we are particularly excited about.

El Kabeir x Best New Show filly

Sire: El Kabeir – First season sire by Scat Daddy. El Kabeir was a top-class miler in America wining 4 graded races.
Dam: Best New Show – winner at 3 and placed a further 3 times. She is an own sister to Maid In Heaven who was a black type filly. She is the dam of 1 winner from 1 runner.
Comment: This filly is a good mover with a great attitude and has done tremendously well. Its early days but she has shown a good level of ability. She will likely start over 6 furlongs so won’t be out in the first month of the season. A nice filly who we are looking forward to seeing on the racecourse.

Jewel of Kabeir

Sire: El Kabeir – First season sire by Scat Daddy. El Kabeir was a top-class miler in America wining 4 graded races.
Dam: Apple Spirit – Unraced, from a wonderful black type family, she has produced 1 winner from 2 runners.
Comment: She is a very good moving filly with a great attitude and has been doing nicely on the gallops. She has been pleasing us in her work and she looks a filly we can crack on with. She is a filly we like a lot.

Fast Company x Takizada filly
Trainer: Archie Watson
Sire: Fast Company – Highest rated juvenile from the Danehill line. Sire of Classic winner Jet Setting and the Group 2 Norfolk hero Baitha Alga from his first two crops. He is also the sire of last season’s Group 1 Arlington Million hero Robert Bruce.
Dam: Takizada – by Sendawar was placed 3 times at 2 and 3 in France. She is the dam of 2 winners from 4 runners
Comment: This filly has been showing a lot of speed on the gallops and we expect her to be out early. She is very forward in her work and we have been able to make good progress with her. She could have a very bright future.

Alaskan Jewel
Trainer: Adrian Keatley
Sire: Kodiac – Needs no introduction, champion sire of 2 year olds in 2017 & 2018. Best progeny include Fairyland and Tiggy Wiggy who both won the 2 year old Group 1 Cheveley Park stakes and Group 2 Lowther stakes.
Dam: Dutch Destiny – Winner at both 2 and 3 and placed a further 4 times. She is the dam 1 previous foal by Lethal Force who is a winner of 2 races.
Comment: We are very pleased with our filly’s progress. She looks a like pocket rocket, is very forward and has done plenty of work to date. She should be out early in the season. A nice filly who looks to have a good future.

Mehmas x Dittander Colt

Sire: Mehmas – Top first season sire in 2020, a revelation. A winner or placed in each of his 8 starts at 2. He was the winner of the July Stakes Gr.2 and the Vintage Stakes Gr.2.
Dam: Dittander – winner of 2 races at 2 years of age. She is the dam of 2 runners from 2 previous foals, both of whom placed at 2.
Comment: Our colt oozes class. A lovely strong colt with a tremendous attitude for his work. We couldn’t be happier with the colt’s progress and we think he is a very exciting prospect.

Dam: Fayreway – placed at 2. She is the dam of 1 winner from 1 runner – Lang Toun Lady (by Sir Prancealot) who was a winner at 2 years and placed 4 times
Comment: Our filly has done well to date. She is not the biggest but has a great attitude for her work and is a very forward filly. She is a filly we really like and fully expect her to be winning this year.

Liangel Hope
Trainer: David O’ Meara
Sire: The Last Lion – First season sire who was an outstanding 2 year old trained by Mark Johnston. He won the first 2 year old race of the year in March; the Brocklesby Stakes and trained on right through to win the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.
Dam: Hope Against Hope – by Dark Angel was a winner at 2 and 3 years of age, this colt is her first foal
Comment: He is very speedily bred and he has been showing up well on the gallops. We expect him to be an early runner who like his sire will progress through his 2 year old campaign. A nice colt.
